The Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Arsenio Dominguez, announced his management team, one week after taking office.

The members of the Steering Committee are:

• Director of the Administrative Division: Azara Prempeh.
• Director of the Maritime Safety Division: Hiroyuki Yamada.
• Director, Legal Affairs and External Relations Division: Dorota Lost-Sieminska.
• Director, Marine Environment Division: Heike Deggim.
• Director, Technical Cooperation Division: José Matheickal.
• Director of the Conferences Division: Xiaojie Zhang.
• Chief of Staff: Damien Chevallier.

"I invite you to join us in an era of progression for the Organization, which leads by example and with higher values from inclusion, diversity and transparency. I look forward to working with you in the coming years in a new and exciting era to make this maritime sector a much better one," said Dominguez.

It should be recalled that Arsenio Dominguez, who hails from Panama, succeeded Kitack Lim of the Republic of Korea, who served as IMO secretary general from 2016 to 2023. Dominguez was confirmed as secretary general by the thirty-third session of the IMO Assembly, which met in November and December 2023.
